Event Details
The Uintah Basin Teen Reporter Corps is open to students in grades 7-12. During this eight-week program, students will produce a three to five-minute audio news piece. Students will receive support from the Utah Public Radio team as well as one-on-one support from a mentor as they develop a story idea, interview sources for the story, write the story, and produce the final audio piece. Completed stories will air on Utah Public Radio.
Once registered an email will be sent out to confirm your registration with links to forms attached. One will be a consent form for use of special equipment that will have to be signed by a parent or guardian and turned in before the first session. The next link will be to a form that will ask you questions about the kind of journalism you're interested in. Please make sure to fill out this form as soon as you can. It will be use to match you up with the appropriate mentor before classes start.
If you do not receive the email, have trouble with the links, or have any questions about the program. Please reach out to Jenny Young at (435) 789-0091, email jyoung@uintah.utah.gov or come by the Library.
