“Homesteading on the Greendale Bench”

Jeffrey Rust, archaeologist with Ashley National Forest, will give a presentation on homesteading and the Greendale Canal on the Greendale Bench near Red Canyon and Flaming Gorge on the north slope of the Uinta Mountains.  Between 1906 and the 1940s, homesteaders built a living on Greendale Bench in rough terrain and at elevations above 7,000 feet.

All Utah Archaeological Society Meetings are open to the public and free of charge. Please invite anyone who may be interested in archaeology or history.
