Join the Moon Family for a special panel about the amazing gingerbread display in the library!
The ginger bread tradition all started with Ann Moon. She taught her son Stephen Moon, how to make gingerbread houses. When Stephen was working at the local library, he began to display his gingerbread houses, libraries, and castles for the public to enjoy. In 2004 he introduced his now wife Sabrina Moon to the tradition. Together the three of them began creating more and more elaborate buildings. Then one year, Ann made the comment that it would be really neat to see a complete story with the gingerbread. Thus the two foot by two foot buildings became a two foot by six foot world that has encompassed many themes and stories. In 2013 the Moon family had a little boy named Matthew. Matthew, who was only six months old, joined in the tradition by eating the baby Jesus right out of the manger. Thus the four of them continue the tradition with a new blueprint of their next fantastic creation, which is always on display at the Roosevelt library during the month of December.
