Janel Preston, from USU, will be coming to Vernal to present on "Learn the Signs. Act Early." from the Centers for Disease Control.

This session will highlight “Learn the Signs. Act Early.” campaign in early childhood service systems. “Learn the Signs. Act Early.” is an initiative of the Centers for Disease control to improve early identification of developmental delays (i.e. language, gross motor, fine motor, etc.) and family engagement in developmental monitoring and referral. This session participants will learn more about collaboration with developmental monitoring and partnerships with professional service providers and families. Participant will learn about using FREE resources available to them from the “Learn the signs. Act Early” campaign.

Janel Preston is the Center for Disease Control and Prevention ambassador for the state of Utah for the Learn the Signs. Act Early. Within this role she works with community programs to get developmental milestones and monitoring to families. She works with local doctors to help identify early developmental delays. She presents the materials for the campaign at conferences and at community events.
